It’s been a hectic week here at Westend DJ, we’ve had new product announcements from Pioneer DJ, Akai and Novation and the Denon DJ DN-SC5000M has landed in our stores!

Pioneer HDJ-X5BT

The Pioneer HDJ-X5BT is a Bluetooth equipped version of the incredibly popular HDJ-X5.  Featuring the same great sound quality, but without the cable, the X5BT is perfect for those who need freedom from their cans. With up to 20 hours playback from a single three-hour charge, the X5BT supports the latest aptX codec for high quality wireless audio.Whether you want to listen to your mix on the move, practice on your laptop or listen at home wirelessly – the HDJ-X5BT allows you to do so with the same pair of headphones.  When connected to your phone, you can make and receive calls thanks to the built-in microphone.

Novation SL MK3 Controllers

Novation have revealed details of the latest updates to the popular SL range of keyboard controllers. The 49SL MK3 and 61SL MK3 both feature CV control, step sequencing capabilities, high resolution screens and a stack of controls as well as a deep integration with Ableton Live.These controllers really can form the heart of your studio, whether you’re in need of sequencing capabilities for your outboard, or you want to control your DAW the new SL range is perfect.

Akai MPK MINI Black & Play

Akai have announced two new products this week, the Akai MPK MINI Play and the limited edition MPK MINI Black.  These controllers are perfect for producers who are constantly on the move. You’ll find them to be small enough to fit in your bag with your laptop and the MPK MINI Play has the added bonus of an onboard speaker and sounds – you can practice your keyboard playing wherever you are.

Denon DN-SC5000M

Lastly, Denon DJ’s DN-SC5000M has finally landed.  Check out the video below where product specialist Matt Reay gives Marcus a rundown on the latest features of this beast of a controller.  We originally expected the SC5000M to retail for the same price as the non-motorised SC5000 but we’re thrilled to announce that both prime media players can be yours for just £1099 each – that’s a bargain for a dual layer powerhouse deck!
