Pioneer DJ announce new RekordBox DJ controllers, DDJ-RB and DDJ-RR.

Adding to their existing DDJ-RX and RZ controllers, Pioneer DJ have today announced their new entry level (DDJ-RB) and mid-level (DDJ-RR) controllers for their own software. As before these new controllers are based on their ‘original’ Serato versions with some tweaks to make them more suitable for RekordBox DJ. Mainly, both of these include full licenses for RekordBox DJ making the entry level DDJ-RB amazing value at £189.

Looking very familiar, the DDJ-RB is based on the DDJ-SB but with a couple of differences. There are now dedicated play and cue buttons as well as loop in and out controls. The build quality is better as well with new jog wheels that feel superb.

Minor differences are the mic socketbeing at the back, the performance pads are slightly smaller and only single colour and no dedicated 4 deck switches.

However, as mentioned, at this price you get £100 worth of software as well as a tried and tested controller. buy now

Now this controller has us a little bit excited. The DDJ-RR features enough differences to the DDJ-SR that it’s a proper upgrade.

The DDJ-RR features improved jog wheels with illumination, colour performance pads, touch strip / needle drop and an improved sound card with DVS capability. This new interface gives 2 phono or line inputs so you can also play a CD deck or turntable through the software.

The DDJ-RR can also be bus powered or mains which we guess will give boosted headphone output level and brighter lights.

The Pioneer DDJ-RB and DDJ-RR will be available in June 2016 and include FULL RekordBox DJ software (although will not work with Serato), the DVS option for the DDJ-RR is a paid plugin.
